A Shoulder Made of Glaus, Part 2

Sixty days my rear end. See Jon's commentary on Shawn Green for where this is going.

Well, at least we have Dallas McPherson to look forward to. Troy, you were a great MVP in 2002 and it was a fantastic career while it lasted. I guess it's a good thing that they didn't re-sign Glaus in the offseason, huh?

Update: ESPN reports he may be out for the rest of the year. No duh, and add it's "stick a fork in him" time, but I include this for the sake of completeness; IMO his career is over, but at least he's got D-Mac behind him. Who knows, he might make a nice backup infielder. Well, he's not so good at short, and hasn't played the position since the minors. Heh, never mind.

Comments:
Well, now Moreno doesn't have such a big decision on Glaus to make after this season. This #### sucks. If we get garret back, I'm perfectly fine with figgins at 3rd.

I think you're being a little too quick on the trigger to pronounce his career over. As long as he can swing the bat relatively pain-free he should have a nice little run as a DH with someone.

Whatever. Will Carroll says of torn labrums that the "successful return rate from this surgery is frighteningly low." Shawn Green is the poster child. Certainly, we'll know more Friday, but my guess is it's not good news we'll hear.

Check out this article from Scott Miller @ sportsline.com: http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/story/7338772

pretty harsh, and this coming from a very pro-angels guy. I can't say I disagree with him on any point though, especially the part about him being done with the angels. ,mattkew

Interesting stuff. I'm never fond of any article that indulges in name-calling, but in this case, he may have a point. Jim Edmonds redux? IMO, if he stays with the Angels, he gives up a big chunk of salary in exchange for returning -- he is, after all, damaged goods now. I don't know how Miller gets off complaining about Troy's work ethic, though.
