In Seattle, Sackcloth And Ashes

Mariners Optimist has been on strike since May 20th.

And now Mariners Wheelhouse is headed to the cashier's window, chips in hand.

With the callup of Santiago, I think I've had it. I am still a Mariners fan; that part stays. But if I'm going to enjoy the team I've got to put a bit more distance between myself and the current management debacles. And it's not as if I'm leaving a huge void in Mariners coverage.

...

I'll talk about the Mariners again when I think there's something new to say. Or maybe when Corey (the Mariner Optimist) comes back - that might do it for me as well.

Stephen dropped me a line the other day about a story idea he had regarding Arte's repositioning of the Angels to appeal to Southern California's Latin fan base, and how this could reshape the dynamics of the AL West. It's an interesting idea, and I hope he gets that out. In the meantime, we'll miss you, Stephen.

Comments:
Yeah, Rob, I'm still planning to do that pieced. And probably more of that type. I've just got to separate myself from the absolute idiocy that is the Mariners FO.
