Sign O' The Times
Thanks again to Ken Arneson on the Will Carroll Weblog for pointing me to this gadget, a cellphone you can wave in the air to create an "air sign".
For years, Dodger Stadium hasn't allowed fan signs, on the theory that the surrounding hills are too combustable, i.e., fire code regulations. But I've never bought into this; there's too much other trash generated by the stadium, including Coke cups and so on, that could build up on the field. No, the real problem is that the Dodgers don't want their fans saying something embarrassing in public.
Let's see 'em justify the confiscation of peoples' cellphones.
