Dodgers 8, Pirates 3

Dodgers' post-cardiectomy record: 5-1

Well, so much for that. I really didn't expect a home sweep of the Bucs, especially after last night's low-scoring affair, but it came anyway, a neat three-game sweep of a team at the bottom of their division, the way you're supposed to do it when you're headed for a division championship. Now six games up over the Padres, the Dodgers arrived at that lofty pinnacle by way of four homers, two by Bradley, Beltre's 30th, one from Werth, and one by Hernandez. Lil' Jeffy turned in a fine performance, and at no time did Vin Scully mention the words "heart" or "soul".

Starting tomorrow, the Phils, and what a series that should be. If we take two of three from them, I'll be ecstatic.
