Pickoff Moves

Mad Dog's 300th

Congratulations on 300, Mad Dog. Not only did 6-4-2 World Headquarters get to cheer on a Cubbie win, but we got to see a Giants loss. Sweet.

OT: LA's REAL Underground

Check out this photo tour of an abandoned Pacific Electric tunnel. Late last year -- when the temperature was actually tolerable -- I went to the Orange Empire Railway Museum, which used to be in the middle of nowhere, but is now surrounded by Perris. Originally put together by one of the "old men" of Disney animation, it's a fantastic place to look back at the history of rail transport in Southern California.

Angels 3, Royals 0

Richard's already said pretty much whatever I would have said, with the addition that Timmy got his first career hit against former Angel Darrell May, an RBI double. The hit was his first extra-base hit since July 26. Escobar could barely fend off a floundering Royals offense, getting into jam after jam. He's tiring.
