Minorest Of Minor Notes
Via the Daily News:
In a followup to yesterday's goofy story about Raul Mondesi, looks like there may have been some fire under all that smoke. MLB.com reports the Braves and Mondesi are in talks, though the Braves claim the deal they're discussing pays Mondi far less than the $1M he was talking about, even with incentives.
- Jon Debus will replace Jim Lett as bullpen coach. Formerly an interim coach with the Albuquerque Dukes, Debus also managed the Great Falls Dodgers. Incidentally, the promotion of Jon Debus breaks the standing rule that a Dodger coach must have the first name of "Jim". Bet they look at him funny in team meetings.
- The 40-man victim making room for Paul Bako is Chin-Feng Chen, who used to be a prospect, has now been DFA'd. If he clears waivers, as seems likely, he will be outrighted to Las Vegas.
