Thanks to Jon for pointing out this Times story mentioning the Angels' ignorance of Vlad's even playing in the Dominican this winter:
Had the Angels known Guerrero planned to play in the Dominican, they probably would have prohibited it, but "we found out [Guerrero] was playing right around the time he got hurt," Stoneman said. "We didn't anticipate him playing. All of a sudden he was playing, and then he jammed his thumb."Are they serious?

- December 12, he joins Licey
- December 19, played his first game
- December 20, a couple pictures of Vlad
- January 5, Vlad hurts his finger
