Angels Followups
- Kelvim Escobar was knocked around (three runs in two innings) but felt otherwise fine in an 8-3 loss to the Chisox on Tuesday. According to the Times,
"The main thing is my health — the results don't matter right now," Escobar said. "I felt I had to get out there today, any way I could, because there's only [three] weeks left before the season, and I have to get some work in. … I felt strong the whole time. I just left too many pitches up in the zone. The next game, I'll work on command."
- The back spasms that took Colon out of yesterday's spring training game early were due to the two-hour bus ride to the Chisox' Tucson Electric Park. Dumb place for a park, two hours away...
- Kendry Morales is stuck for another week in the Dominican, according to Rafael Perez, an MLB official in that country, and could be there for even longer still. This is beginning to sound like a shakedown...
- Jarrod Washburn's wife is due with her third child and will give birth Friday.
- Garret Anderson's knee showed no structural problems in an MRI yesterday, but he will miss time due to tendinitis.
- Matt Hensley has a partial tear of his shoulder (no word on whether it's his labrum, glenoid fossa, or whatnot), and is trying to rehab rather than undergo surgery.
- Benjie Molina ran the bases, albeit "not at full speed". How could they tell?
