Cubs Turn To Stone?
6-4-2 World Headquarters has learned that -- according to the Chicago Tribune -- that Steve Stone will broadcast one spring training game. It will mark an enormous improvement over the dull-as-dishwater duo of Bob Brenley and Len Kasper. I heard their somnambulistic game stylings watching Saturday's Cubs/Angels game, and I was amazed they could stay awake in the booth themselves. It wasn't as bad as the godawful Pirates broadcasters, or the stupefyingly bad Chisox booth bozos, but they weren't especially enlightening and made me wish for Vin Scully... or so help me God, Rex Hudler.*
*Actually I don't hate Hudler. In fact, as homers go, he's not bad, sort of a spring-wound toy in the booth.

Comments:
Uh, hon, your assistant here at World HQ notes that he'll be on ESPN2. Just fyi.
And I'm willing to give Kaspar and Brenly a few more chances. It wasn't the most exiting, or important game ever. And there's no way Brenly will ever fill Stone's shoes, so I just can't hold him to that standard, anyway.
