Jackie Robinson To Be Awarded Congressional Gold Medal

Jackie Robinson, an immensely courageous man, will be posthumously given a Congressional Gold Medal by a group singularly noteworthy for their lack of courage. Jackie would have been 86 on January 31; he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1962, and died in October 1972. The Jackie Robinson Foundation has a multipart biography of him available on the Internet; his Hall of Fame page may be found here.
