Angels Totally In The Dark About Morales

We find out a little more today about Kendry Morales from the San Gabriel Valley Tribune: it turns out the Angels don't even know when his lawyers filed for a visa, and since this can take up to three months to complete, it may be a while before he gets to the US.

Angels Agree With K-Rod, Two Others

In that same article: the Angels have agreed to a one-year, $440k contract. Also, the Angels have agreed to one-year deals with RHP Dustin Moseley, acquired from Cincinnati in the Ortiz trade, and catcher Wil Nieves.

Quote, Unquote

Jeff Kent, on whether his age is eroding his defensive skills:
"You can't factuate defense," the 2000 National League MVP said. "It's easy to say one guy is slower than another. But maybe (the slower player) has a quicker jump on the ball. Or maybe one guy sets up differently (in the field) than another guy to give him an advantage. You can't factuate defense.
Umm... umm... I just know there's something wrong with that comment...

Comments:
well, perhaps kent just hasn't heard about DER or DRA or anything like that yet. he doesn't seem a very likely stathead.
