The Clash Of Minors: Salt Lake 7, Las Vegas 1

Jon points to a six-run shellacking of prospect Edwin Jackson at the hands of the Angels' minor league club, the Salt Lake Stingers, and Dustin Moseley. Moseley one-hit the 51's in six innings of work, striking out two and walking one in his first game in Salt Lake.

Coda: I should also add that Moseley represents Bill Stoneman at one of his shrewder moments. With the rest of the league, nay, the world knowing that Ramon Ortiz was about to get the boot, they could have had him for nothing once Stoneman's bootprint made itself evident on Ortiz's posterior. Instead, the Angels get an intriguing starting prospect in return. A good job from a GM I'm not inclined to give favorable marks to under most circumstances.
