Dodgers' 1955 World Series Pennant Restored
The Brooklyn Dodgers' 1955 World Series pennant will be put on display "following a $16,000 restoration by experts at the Textile Conservation Laboratory at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine." The only title the old Brooklyn club won, the pennant was taken to Los Angeles with the club but subsequently stolen by New Yorkers in 1959. It spent most of the last 45 years in a garage, but was eventually remanded to Cooperstown "with the understanding that it would stay in Cooperstown until a deserving Brooklyn home could be found." The pennant will be on display in Brooklyn from April 22 through the fall.
