Angels To Call Up Starter Next Week?

So says Stephen Smith. According to Tony Reagins, minor league director, Ervin Santana was pulled after 30 pitches from his regularly scheduled start Friday at AA-Arkansas; he is being held in reserve for an emergency start on Wednesday, or as a midseason promotion to Salt Lake to substitute for Chris Bootcheck in case he gets the callup for Tuesday's start against Cleveland.

More on this at MLB.com; other names being considered are Kevin Gregg, Dustin Moseley (recovering from elbow tendinitis), Joe Saunders, and Steven Shell.

"We'll definitely bring one guy up from the Minor League system and possibly two," Scioscia said.

Comments:
Terry Smith said tonight on Angel Talk that he believes it will be Santana who starts next Wednesday...
