Tim Worrell Hits DL With "Personal Psychological Issues"

Phillies relief pitcher Tim Worrell has requested DL time due to "personal psychological issues".
"I called [general manager] Ed Wade last night to tell him that I am dealing with some personal psychological issues that I need to resolve," Worrell said Friday in a statement issued by the team. "They are affecting my family life and my ability to do my job. I am going to deal with these issues and I hope to resolve them as quickly as possible."
Worrell (0-1, 9.82 ERA, 11.0 IP) was responsible for the three winning earned runs the Angels hit in Game 6 of the 2002 World Series. He pitched well with the Giants the next year (4-4, 2.87 ERA), but his ERA increased appreciably in 2004.

Comments:
If I was a GM and a player came to me with such a request, I'd probably tell him to take as much time as he needs - and never come back. I don't know what's up with Worrell - he may have a real problem. But as of now this seems pretty weak on his part.
