Via Pearly Gates, how improbable is this Register story claiming the Angels are shopping Kotchman? Aside from the well-documented lack of trades under circumstances far more trying than the current ones, we are talking about a trade for a first baseman, people. Trading Kotchman for Sweeney makes even less sense than just keeping Kotchman does. Morales is an untested rookie who is now hitting .269 for Rancho -- a far cry from the superhuman numbers he put up in his first few games. Arte may be rich, but he didn't get that way by paying (soon to be declining) veterans a lot of money.
