Roster Moves
- The Snakes placed starter Russ Ortiz on the 15-day DL, for a strained right ribcage. Ortiz had never missed a major league assignment previously.
- Also, the Diamondbacks DFA'd reliever Matt Herges, calling up Mike Koplove, and purchasing the contract of Brandon Medders from AAA Tucson. Arizona traded for Herges back on June 4.
- Update 6/19: According to the Register, the Angels will switch Santana and Byrd in the rotation to give Byrd another day to rest a tight triceps muscle in his pitching arm.
