We Could Be Heroes: Tales From The Minors
- Pitch It To Mikey, He'll Hit Anything: How often does this happen: Mike Napoli smacked eight runs in last night, the entirety of the Travs' scoring in a 8-4 win over Wichita. In his 2005 chat, Baseball America Angels editor Alan Matthews said of Napoli that "he has legit power potential and made strides defensively in 2004". Napoli's hitting .300/.430/.573 in 213 AB, with 67 K's and 45 BB. Not too shabby. Kendry Morales was again 0-4 in the victory, but CF Reggie Willits was 4-5.
- Get Some Wood On It: Brandon Wood hit his 22nd home run of the season last night in a 6-4 Rancho win over Stockton.
- More Dreary News For Jackson: the Montgomery Biscuits clobbered Jacksonville after Edwin Jackson surrendered seven runs, four earned. Final score: Biscuits 7, Suns 1.
Comments:
I saw a conversation you had with Vince over at Exile in Wrigleyville regarding the Sox-Dodger series and noticed that you said that bat-girl, among other things, has colored your opionion of the Sox. J/C? How has she swayed your view of the Sox? As a Sox fan she pisses me off, but I'm curious as to what impression she makes on an outsider regarding our Sox.
Well, mainly to the extent that (a) I never read anything about the Sox, and (b) the only blogs I read about teams in the AL Central are Bat-Girl and Aaron Gleeman's, both of whom are Twins fans. So it's not so much that I like or dislike the Sox as I just don't have much information on them. I generally try to keep it that way, because it's tough enough keeping up with two teams on the West Coast in two different divisions as well as all of their rivals.
