Chris Howell Signs With Angels
According to this release, former Tennessee pitcher Chris Howell signed with the Angels as a free agent after throwing five and two-thirds scoreless innings for the Arizona League Angels, with three strikeouts. I'm not sure how this works, but I suppose he must have been passed over by the draft multiple times (I seem to recall the requirement is six drafts). He had a 1-4, 5.50 ERA record with the Vols and four saves, making him the fifth Tennessee player from the College World Series championship team to sign a deal.
