Minor League Scorebook

2005-07-26: Salt Lake 5, Albuquerque 6
Prieto: 3-5
Callaspo, A: 1-5
Kotchman: 2-5
Mathis: 1-4
Thomas: 6.0 IP, 5 ER, 2 K, 2 BB, 7.00 ERA
Dunn: (L, 3-6) (in relief), 2.2 IP, 1 ER, 4 K, 0 BB, 4.97 ERA
Woods: 0.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 K, 0 BB, 7.00 ERA
Jake Woods gave up the game-winning single, so even though Scott Dunn got tagged for the loss, it was really Woods who should have taken it.
2005-07-26: Arkansas 6, Springfield 5
Willits, R: 1-5
Aybar, E: 1-5
Kendrick, H: 2-5
Napoli, M: 1-3, 2 BB, 1 HR
Morales, K: 2-4
Eylward: 2-4, 1 HR
Weaver: 4.0 IP, 3 ER, 6.75 ERA
Austen: (W, 2-1) (in relief), 2.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 K, 0 BB, 4.35 ERA
Jered Weaver looked anything but sharp in his AA debut. As with Morales, I expect the early high expectations will have to be tempered with the reality that it takes guys time to adjust to new levels of competition. Mike Napoli, who had been scuffling a bit (.240/.378/.478) homered and walked twice. Morales walked in addition to his two hits, both singles. Both of Howie Kendrick's hits were doubles, and his average now stands at .341.
2005-07-26: Lake Elsinore 10, Rancho Cucamonga 7
Day: 3-5
Wood, B: 1-5
Pali: 1-4, 1 HR

Lopez: 2-4
Wilson: 2-3, 3 RBI
Johnson: 2-3, 1 HR
Edwards: (L, 5-5), 5.1 IP, 5 ER, 3 K, 2 BB, 4.33 ERA
2005-07-26: Cedar Rapids vs. Fort Wayne: Postponed: Rain
2005-07-26: AZL Angels 7, AZL Rangers 3
Infante: 1-5, 1 HR
Nieves: 2-5
Adenhart: 2.1 IP, 2 ER, 4 K, 2 BB, 5.62 ERA
Beck: 2.2 IP, 0 ER, 3 K, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
Cassevah: (W, 1-4) (in relief), 3.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 K, 0 BB, 6.14 ERA
I refuse to expect anything from Adenhart until next year, as it typically takes 18 months after Tommy John surgery before a pitcher really regains his form.

Update 7/27: BA's Daily Dish says both Adenhart and Cassevah are recovering from Tommy John surgery; this was Cassevah's first professional win.

Kuo: 2.0 IP, 0 ER, 4 K, 0 BB, 1.46 ERA
Broxton, J: 1.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 K, 0 BB, 3.36 ERA
Great game for Hanrahan, who seems to be turning things around. Kuo and Broxton continue their fantastic pitching, too.

Vero Beach made up for the earlier loss in grand fashion by slaughtering the Miracles 15-0. The Dodgers homered three times in the game.
