No Pitching, No Win: Mets 7, Dodgers 5

Even as late as last year, if a nobody like D.J. Houlton were to outduel (say) a Pedro Martinez, you'd have to feel pretty good about getting a two-run lead into one of the bullpen's middle relievers, from there to Eric Gagné, and a win in the books. This isn't last year, as we keep getting reminded, and so it fell to the 2005 edition of Giovanni Carrara to do the job. Gio, we loved you last year, but it's time DePo goes to the pitcher section of the store and started running up Frank's credit card.
