Good Pitching Beats Lousy Hitting: Nationals 7, Dodgers 0

Penny deserved better than this, but face it, Patterson was dealing. Complete game shutouts with thirteen strikeouts don't happen every day, not even when you're the Dodgers. The exclamation point was Duaner Sanchez's surrendered grand slam to Brad Wilkerson, the first by the Nats in RFK.

Four hits all night for the Dodgers.

Sometimes you're the bug. I remember reading or hearing somebody say that the Dodgers were just the tonic for the Nats coming into this series. It sure looks that way, doesn't it?

Recap

Comments:
I think that "tonic" thing came from a DC thing I put in the comments at Dodger Thoughts. In fairness, he said the same thing about the Padres. In fact, I've been explaining to all who will listen that, having taken 2 of 3 from the Dodgers, the Nationals are now morally obligated to sweep the Pads this weekend. We'll see.
