OT: New Orleans

Not much to say here but my God. (Here's CNN coverage.) Hundreds, possibly thousands, of dead bodies floating in New Orleans, the complete failure of the 17th Street levy, water up to thirteen feet in places. Instapundit has helpful links where you can, you know, help. (Hat tip to Matt Welch.)

Comments:
The shame is that while the hurricane damage was not avoidable, the flooding as result of the broken levy most likely was.

Unfortunately, tax cuts and the war got the money that was to spent on levy improvements 2002-2005.

Goes to show where our priorities are, I guess.

Never planning ahead, no foresight or vision. We saw it in Iraq, we see it in our fiscal policy, and we see it with the disaster in New Orleans.

Yes, damn that Chimpy McHitlerburton and his neo-con brownshirt thugs! It was so obvious that the largest hurricane in three generations was going to hit New Orleans! What are you people, blind!?

Dipshit.

Richard,

Still no relief workers and its four days after the hurricane, seven days after we knew it would hit.

Still think Bush shouldn't be held accountable for yet another failure under his watch?

Look -- I'm no Bush fan, but this is pointless taunting.
