Vlad Named AL Player Of The Week
Vladimir Guerrero was named American League Player of the Week.
The reigning AL Most Valuable Player led the league with a .500 batting average (11-for-22), five homers, 13 RBIs, nine runs and a 1.182 slugging percentage to win the award for the second time in his career.He belted his third career grand slam and second this season in Tuesday's 9-2 victory over Oakland. The A's won the next two games of the series to drop surpass Anaheim for the top spot in the Western Division.
Guerrero went 8-for-14 with seven RBIs as the Angels swept a three-game set in Seattle to re-claim a one-game lead in the division.
