Races
- I forgot to mention it, but Oakland was eliminated yesterday from the Wild Card.
- Thanks to rain and an 11-3 Yankees victory over the O's, the rain-idled Red Sox fall a half game back in the East, and a half game back of Cleveland in the AL Wild Card.
- The Chisox lost to Detroit 4-3, their AL Central lead slipping a half game over the idle Indians, to two games. It's worth mentioning that, despite all of Boston, New York, Cleveland, and/or Chicago likely having to go further to clinch, the Angels would still have reason to want to win, namely home field advantage.
- Houston's 3-2 loss to the Cubs on Sunday stripped another half game from their Wild Card lead.
- A 3-2 win for the Giants over the Pads puts San Francisco three games back with three left to play in the series and six in the season.
- Philadelphia is technically still in the NL East race, but has an elimination number of one. They trail the Astros by a game and a half in the NL Wild Card.
