Angels Lose Another Reliever On Waivers: Peralta Claimed By Royals

Unfreakingbelievable: the Royals have claimed Joel Peralta off waivers from the Angels. I just. Don't. Get. It.

Comments:
Not that big of a deal. The guy's 30 years old, and just not that good.

Scioscia doesn't trust him, so his leave means little.

However, according to BP, his WXRL is even better than Donnelly.

This isn't as big a deal as the Jenks/Turnbow departures of last winter. But with Donnelly definitely looking finished as an impact reliever a guy like Peralta is an important piece of the puzzle.

This team can't go into 2006 with Donnelly, Shields and Frankie holding down the 7th through 9th innings again. They need to add an arm or two to help in the 6th through 8th and Peralta could have helped there for a year or two until a better option is available.

Shoot, he is at least better than Yan....
