Minor League Scorebook
News first, of course, and the big news is the Angels advancing; more
on this later.

I seem to recall something about offense being paramount in the AFL. So was it batting practice for Brandon Wood? With four home runs in one game, Brandon Wood sure made the opposition pitching look silly. Howie Kendrick got one in, too. Wood already has seven home runs in the AFL, and how are you feeling today, Dallas McPherson?

Grand Canyon used only five pitchers in this rout, of which the two most badly nicked were Matt Smith, who gave up seven runs, all earned over two outs, leaving the game with a 37.12 ERA, and Logan Kensing, who gave up three in one inning, and left with a 40.50 ERA.

Adam LaRoche didn't do much in a game marked by a ton of offense, most notably by Arizona prospect Stephen Drew. Good outing for Greg Miller.
