Okay, Brandon, you can stay on the team. That's his ninth home run since the AFL started. His slugging percentage is 1.269, about as high as I've ever seen.

Update: Brandon Wood leads the AFL in slugging percentage (you'll have to do the sort yourself).

Update 10/14: The AFL record for home runs is 12.

Comments:
Sweet Jeebus on a dinner roll, when will this guy slow down?

Rich and I were talking about this the other day, in the parking lot after ALDS Game 5. Rich thinks Wood could start today for the Angels, though it would stunt his growth as a player in all likelihood.

Looks like D-Mac has about 4 months to prove himself next season.

Oh, I don't know about that. It's a long haul from Rancho to Arkansas, and forget AAA Salt Lake. On the other hand, next stop, Tempe Diablo and an NRI to spring training. If he can do well enough there, well...

The wife is hoping he starts the year at AA Arkansas so we can have an excuse to go back and see her folks early next year.
