ATL $1,874,621
HOU $1,681,460
SD $1,630,025
STL $1,619,822
CHA $1,316,071

Comments:
I'm confused. Do you mean third-worst, as in least efficient?

Yes, exactly. My bad for not getting the title right.

Wait a minute, they're 12th, not 3rd. Lots of teams higher that are not listed, like the Mets ($2.6 million) and the Dodgers ($3.3 million) and Giants ($3.0 million).
Heck, even the Royals, since they lost so much ($3.7 million).

that's why rob used the modifier "of playoff teams". the mets, dodgers, giants, and royals all failed to reach the playoffs.

Yeah, but they were also 5th best!

Ah, I missed the modifier, but all the same I don't know that looking at just "playoff" teams is relevant. It matters an awful lot to me that there were teams spending WAY more than the Angels per win and didn't get anywhere close to the playoffs.

Matt, that would be 6th best.
