This will be the final Minor League Scorebook until the minor leagues' regular season begins again next year. Hope to see you all then...

2005-11-12: Surprise 3, Phoenix 9 #
Kemp: 4-4, 2 HR, 2 RBI
LaRoche: 1-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Loney: 1-4
Barton: 2-2, 1 RBI
Saltalamacchia: 2-3, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K
Abreu: 0-3, 1 K
Shields: (W, 1-0), 6.2 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 5 K, 0 BB, 0 ERA
At least it was an amusing game for someone, as Andy LaRoche got his first and only AFL homer in the final game. The big story, of course, was Matt Kemp, whose 4-4, two-homer day was the walking definition of clutch. Both sides traded zeros through five, but Kemp's solo shot opened the door for a three run sixth; Phoenix broke the game open in the eighth with five runs, started by a fielding error by Kendry Morales.
