Judge: Get A Mediator

Judge Peter Polos suggested the Angels and the city of Anaheim should get a mediator and the hell out of his courtroom, although he didn't put it in quite those blunt terms. "I think this case is crying out to be resolved," he said, omitting the crucial phrase, "by adults".

Comments:
both sides have a pretty all or nothing view of what would be an acceptable outcome.

Not necessarily. It has been reported previously that the Angels have proposed various settlement options, which would include paying money, but which would also allow the team to do what it wants with the name.

But the city doesn't care about the money, which just proves that it doesn't have a leg to stand on in this case. This is all about a bunch of backwoods bumpkins (a/k/a, the Anaheim mayor and City Council) realizing that they got outfoxed by someone much smarter and more savvy than they are. And they're going to get embarrassed even more when the Angels win the lawsuit, and the City gets stuck with Moreno's cost bill and attorneys' fees. Add that to the millions the city has already spent on its own lawyers, and there goes all the revenue the city has made off the team since Arte took over.

Truly pathetic. I hope the residents of the City of Anaheim put these fools where they belong come the next election, whenever that is.
