Pickoff Moves, Post-Lunchtime Edition

Angels Look To Long-Term Youngsters

John Lackey, Francisco Rodriguez, Scot Shields, and Chone Figgins are all on Bill Stoneman's list of players to sew up for long-term deals, according to the Times.

A Little Humor

In today's Times:
Little said he didn't know the circumstances of Murray's falling out with Indian Manager Eric Wedge.

"I haven't asked him, and at the same time, he hasn't asked me why I left Pedro Martinez in that game," Little said, referring to his ill-fated decision as Boston Red Sox manager to stay with his starting pitcher in Game 7 of the 2003 American League championship series.

Bradley Signs With A's

Milton Bradley's contract situation with the A's became finalized when he signed a one-year, $3M deal with the team. More on this at Jon's, including news that he's divorcing his wife, Monique, and wants joint custody of his three-month-old son.

When Little says he didn't ask about why Murray got fired, that just has to avoid the subject with the media, right? I mean, you couldn't actually hire someone for such a high-profile position without finding out why he was unceremeniously fired from his previous job 7 months ago, right?
There were accounts in the media at the time that Murray was as uncommunicative with the Indians' players as he was with the press during his playing days.
According to the papers, Bradley "is seeking joint legal and physical custody of (his) three-week-old son..."

Joint custody means just that. Joint, not full. Just a clarification. Great stuff as always.
Oops, misread the graf. 's corrected, and thanks.
Can Gagne recapture his dominant stuff after missing most of the 2005 season?
Can Gagné recapture his dominance off steroids? Whoops, did I say that?

I keed, I keed...
