Seung Yeop Lee Released, Prowlin' Again

Seung Yeop Lee, formerly of the KBL and most recently the star first baseman of the Chiba Lotte Marines, has been released following a contract dispute by that team. Rotoworld thinks he's going to do another tour of the majors in hopes of getting a MLB contract, but at best he'll end up with a minor league deal. I wrote about him two years ago when he had a courtesy tour of various ballparks in the U.S., but no nibbles for his talents. Having played in the Japanese leagues might change that, but at 29, he's not expected to improve much, and like Norihiro Nakamura, there are some J-league position players who don't translate well; I would expect Lee to be one of them.

Comments:
The Yomiuri Giants are interested in Lee and he would be well-served to take them up on their offer.
