Sweep: Dirtbags 8, Trojans 6

This was a phenominal game in classic Rally Monkey style: with Long Beach down 6-3, the team scratched its way back one run at a time. Having chased freshman starter Vance Worley, the Trojans looked like they'd sealed the deal. With All American closer Paul Koss on the mound for USC, what could go wrong?

A bases-loaded walk to Sean Boatright followed by a pinch-hit triple to Brandon Godfrey tied the game, giving Koss nightmares for two straight days. Catcher Kip Masuda and 1B Scott Bradley drove in the winning runs in front of a very lively crowd of 1,786. All in all a great game, even though we missed the first three innings, and the first time in team history that Long Beach has swept the Trojans.
