And He Can't Hear You In Two Languages
Via BTF, this USA Today story about Angels sixth-, seventh-, or eighth-outfielder, Curtis Pride. Did you know he's bilingual?
Pride meets frequently with deaf children at the ballpark and in their schools and answers hundreds of letters a year to affirm the message that if he can overcome his disability, they can, too. That's pretty incredible..."It's a great platform to be on, for people to continue to see me," says Pride, who reads lips from people speaking English or Spanish. "There's not a whole lot of deaf role models in this country, so I want to be able to continue to inspire the kids that you can achieve your dreams and goals if you just put your mind to it."
