Projections To Hate By

Having flogged this dead horse well into glue, I present the Replacement Level Yankees Weblog's 2006 season projections, which of course have the Dodgers on top of their division and the Angels trailing theirs, this using various projected performance numbers. (He also has the Twins taking the AL Central, and the Chisox as third place finishers at 85-77.) The full set:

 AngelsDodgers
ProjectionW-LRankGB W-LRankGB
Diamond Mind79-834th16 (95-67 Oakland) 86-761st place tie (with the Giants)0
PECOTA84-782nd9 (after the 93-69 A's)93-691st0
ZIPS87-752nd9 (after the 96-66 A's) 85-771st0

Discuss -- or throw hand grenades -- amongst yourselves.

Comments:
And once again, Oakland will prove is overrated simply because they use the same stats these systems use.

I doubt the Angels will finish with a losing record simply due to the strength of our pitching which will keep us competitive in many games

Sorry, the offseason theme for Halos fans has been slagging sabermetrics.

Twins winning the AL Central over Cleveland and the Black Sox? Right...

have the Diamond Minds projections been posted on the (free)web yet? they are always and interesting read.

Brian -- not to my knowledge.
