Update: Ramon gets the start on his birthday -- if indeed this is his birthday. His ESPN player card and his MLB.com player card both say his birthday is May 23. Thanks to Sam in the comments for pointing this out.

Even weirder is that his Lahman identifier changed from ortizra01 to ortizra02 without any real reason (there hasn't been another Ramon/Raymond/Ralph/etc. Ortiz to my knowledge in baseball). I manually corrected his link (these lists are automatically generated for me).
For whatever it's worth, his page on baseball-reference.com shows today's date.

Yes, that's where I get the raw data. But it's odd that everyone else seems to agree his birthday is May 23, not March 23.
Ramon was part of the 2001/02 age-gate scandal. He had used another person's birth certificate way back when with the March birthdate and a more recent year. Ramon's a Gemini born one day before Bartolo Colon (same year, 1973).
