2006-04-22: Salt Lake 4, Portland 2 #
Aybar, E: 0-4
Kendrick, H: 1-5, 2 K
Gorneault: 0-4, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
McPherson: 1-3, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Napoli, M: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Morales: 1-4
Murphy: 1-4, 1 K
Pavkovich: 1-2, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K
Olenberger: 0.2 IP, 0 ER, 5.87 ERA
Rouwenhorst: (W, 1-1) (in relief), 2.1 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 2 K, 1 BB, 4.76 ERA
Bulger: 3.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 5 K, 2 BB, 0.00 ERA
The H-Train stalls: Howie Kendrick goes 3-17 over his last four games. Alien abduction? Luckily, it wasn't needed. McPherson struck out only once. Bulger's save was pretty good, too.
2006-04-22: Wichita 7, Arkansas 1 #
Wood: 0-4, 3 K
Smith, C: 1-2, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Davidson: (L, 0-1), 7.0 IP, 3 ER, 4 H, 5 K, 1 BB, 2 HR, 4.56 ERA
Zimmermann: 1.2 IP, 4 ER, 5 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 1 HR, 11.57 ERA
I think Brandon Wood may be at this level for a while. Dan Davidson's strikeouts are getting better, but those homers'll kill you with men on base.
2006-04-22: Modesto 8, Rancho Cucamonga 2 #
Rodriguez, S: 3-5, 1 2B
Collins: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI
Fuller: 2-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Toussaint: 2-3, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Posey: (L, 1-1), 3.1 IP, 5 ER, 8 H, 4 K, 2 BB, 1 HR, 7.20 ERA
Lynch: 2.2 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
Torres: 2.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 2.70 ERA
IIRC Joe Torres used to be a starter and got injured, missing all of his 2004 season. Sean Rodriguez continues his hot start, hitting .419 on his young season. Drew Toussaint's solo homer provided half of the Quakes' offense.
2006-04-22: Cedar Rapids 3, Southwest Michigan 4 #
Statia: 0-5, 2 K
Trumbo: 1-5
Madrigal: 1-5, 2 K
Leahy: 2-4, 1 K
Mendoza: 7.0 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 6 K, 1 BB, 3.42 ERA
Didjurgis: 3.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 0.93 ERA
Romero: (L, 0-1) (in relief), 1.2 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 5.40 ERA
Nice little start for Tommy Mendoza, but not enough offensive support to get the win. The Kernels lost this one in the 12th inning on a wild pitch by Robert Romero. Ugh.
2006-04-22: AZL Angels did not play
2006-04-22: Orem did not play
2006-04-22: Sacramento 6, Las Vegas 2 #
Aybar: 1-5, 1 2B
Guzman, J: 3-4, 2 2B, 1 RBI
Young, D: 0-4, 1 K
Martin, R: 3-3, 1 BB
Billingsley: 5.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 6 K, 2 BB, 2.21 ERA
Gonzalez, L: (L, 0-2) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 0 K, 2 BB, 3.09 ERA
Reid: 1.1 IP, 2 ER, 3 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 1 HR, 5.62 ERA
Too many pitches: Billingsley threw 96 pitches, but only 54 for strikes by the time he got yanked. Joel Guzman and Russell Martin both had good offensive nights, but not enough to get the job done. Randy Keisler allowed only five hits over six innings while striking out five, his best game this season.
2006-04-22: Birmingham 1, Jacksonville 2 #
Hu: 1-2, 1 2B, 1 K
Abreu: 2-3, 1 2B, 1 RBI
Kemp: 1-4
LaRoche: 0-4, 1 RBI, 1 K
Raglani: 0-3, 1 K
Orenduff, J: (W, 1-1), 6.0 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 8 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 4.66 ERA
Jacksonville got two runs in the first; it was all they needed. Solo homer to Ricardo Nanita aside, Orenduff had a fantastic game.
2006-04-22: Daytona vs. Vero Beach: Postponed: Rain #
2006-04-22: Columbus 11, Asheville 10 #
Godwin: 2-4, 2 RBI
Pedroza: 3-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K
Mitchell: 3-5, 2 2B, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 K
Locke: 1-3, 2 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K
May: 1-5, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K
Soto: 2-4, 2 2B, 1 K
Rivera: 1-4, 2 K
Arias, M: (W, 3-0), 6.0 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 10 K, 3 BB, 2.25 ERA
Terriffic outing by Marlon Arias, who's striking out better than a batter an inning. Once he left the game, though... well, the Catfish pitching ain't all that. They won on a Russell Mitchell double in the ninth, an insurance run it turned out Columbus needed. Cory Wade allowed three runs in the bottom of the ninth, but Miguel Sanfler restored order by retiring the first two batters he faced.
2006-04-22: GCL Dodgers did not play
2006-04-22: Ogden did not play

Comments:
Boof needn't pitch a single inning in the majors to make that a "bad trade"...along with Bonser, SF shipped Francisco Liriano AND Joe Nathan for AJ Pierzynski!

Friday night, Howie Kendrick was 2 for 4 with a double, so he couldn't be 1 for 13 over the previous 3 games.

Ah, that's 3-17 over his last four. You're right, I forgot about that last game.
