Escobar Extended Through 2009
Rotoworld is reporting that the Angels have extended Kelvim Escobar through 2009, terms unknown.

This should send a signal to Boras and Jeff Weaver that he needs to be moved during the season, there is no way that they resign him nor offer him arbitration with Colon, Escobar, Lackey all signed for at least 2 plus years and having Ervin and Jered Weaver under their control for 5-6 years and with some of the other guys in the farm system.
Don't who would take Weaver's contract but it makes sense to try and move him now and get something than do nothing.
