Minor League Scorebook

2006-05-14: Salt Lake 6, Iowa 0 #
Aybar, E: 2-4
Willits, R: 3-5, 2 RBI
Gorneault: 4-4, 1 2B, 1 BB
Morales: 4-5, 3 RBI, 1 K
Mathis, J: 1-5, 1 RBI

Budde: 2-4, 1 BB, 1 K
Olenberger: (W, 3-0), 7.0 IP, 0 ER, 5 H, 4 K, 2 BB, 2.20 ERA
Hey, can we join the big club, too? Kendry Morales has left the building, posting four consecutive multi-hit games; over the last week, he's hitting .412/.429/.500. Nick Gorneault also posted his third multi-hit game in the last week, and has a .387/.441/.645 line over that time. Casey Olenberger pitched his second consecutive shutout game, garnering a 3-0 record.
2006-05-14: Arkansas 1, Tulsa 10 #
Wood: 0-4, 2 K
Wilson: 0-4, 2 K
Aspito: 0-1, 2 BB
Rodland: 0-1, 2 BB
Davidson: (L, 1-4), 4.2 IP, 5 ER, 7 H, 2 K, 4 BB, 5.51 ERA
Brandon Wood's five-game hit streak came to an end as he struck out twice in today's game and the rest of the Travs' offense wasn't able to do much of anything against Tulsa starter Ubaldo Jimenez, Colorado's fifth-ranked prospect according to the 2006 Baseball America Prospect Handbook. Jimenez sports a 95-98 MPH fastball, and used it to strike out ten Travs over six innings today. Daniel Davidson surrendered a grand slam to 15th-ranked Seth Smith. Former Dirtbag Troy Tulowitzki went 2-3 with a pair of RBIs and a walk, batting leadoff for the Drillers.
2006-05-14: High Desert 4, Rancho Cucamonga 8 #
Sutton: 0-1, 1 RBI, 3 BB
Rodriguez, S: 1-4, 1 2B, 3 RBI, 1 K
Johnson: 2-4, 2 2B, 2 K
Lopez: 1-4
Toussaint: 1-4, 1 RBI, 1 K
Green: (W, 4-2), 7.0 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 4 K, 2 BB, 2 HR, 4.37 ERA
Torres: 0.1 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 0 K, 3 BB, 4.32 ERA
Gonzalez: 1.2 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 1.71 ERA
Nick Green continued to struggle a bit, but notched a win as he gave up a pair of home runs and one unearned run through seven innings. Joe Torres faced five batters, walked three, gave up a hit, and got one on a groundout. He had to be replaced by Miguel Gonzalez.
2006-05-14: Cedar Rapids 2, Clinton 1 #
Statia: 1-4
Morris: 3-4, 1 2B, 1 K
Trumbo: 0-3, 1 BB
Madrigal: 2-3, 1 2B, 2 RBI
Adenhart: (W, 6-0), 7.0 IP, 1 ER, 7 H, 8 K, 0 BB, 1.60 ERA
Didjurgis: (H, 4), 0.2 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 K, 2 BB, 2.42 ERA
Aldridge: 1.1 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 4.24 ERA
Free Nick Adenhart! (Collect the whole set!) Nick Adenhart continues his success at Cedar Rapids; when the heck do they say "enough's enough" and move him to Rancho? Warner Madrigal's two-run double was enough to get the win for the Kernels.

2006-05-14: Nashville 5, Las Vegas 15 #

Weber, J: 2-3, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB

Truby: 2-5, 1 RBI, 2 K
Bellorin, E: 3-4, 2 RBI, 1 K
Billingsley: 0-1, 1 BB
Billingsley: (W, 4-0), 5.0 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 9 K, 3 BB, 3.24 ERA
Carrara: 1.0 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 1.69 ERA
I guess James Loney likes playing right field, because he's been hitting like a house afire in the few games where he's played the position, batting .545/.583/1.000. In tonight's contest, he drove in a season-high five runs, three of them coming on his first home run of the year. Delwyn Young, Sergio Garcia, and Eric Duncan also had hot nights at the plate, while Chad Billingsley continued to campaign for a callup. Gio Carrara muddled through an inning's work while giving up three hits, a walk, and a run. Don't call us, Gio, we'll call you.
2006-05-14: Jacksonville 2, Mobile 6 #
Ruan: 2-4
Hu: 0-4
Kemp: 1-4, 1 K
LaRoche: 0-1
Abreu: 1-3, 1 RBI, 1 K
Cresse: 0-2, 2 BB, 1 K
Raglani: 0-4, 3 K
Totten: (L, 3-2), 6.0 IP, 3 ER, 6 H, 4 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 3.35 ERA
Padres AA affiliate Bay Bears' starter John Hudgins took a no-hitter into the sixth, and retired 11 consecutive batters; Heath Totten posted a good night but was soundly outpitched by his counterpart. Anthony Raglani got a silver sombrero.
2006-05-14: Vero Beach did not play
2006-05-14: Savannah 5, Columbus 0 #
De Jesus: 2-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Pedroza: 0-2, 2 BB
Arias, M: (L, 3-3), 7.0 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 9 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 4.66 ERA
Pratt: 2.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 2 K, 1 BB, 4.37 ERA
Ivan DeJesus's multi-hit night and a strong but inadequate night for Marlon Arias was the only good news for the Catfish, as Craig Stammen collected his first win for the season (he's 1-6, in case you were interested).
2006-05-14: GCL Dodgers did not play
2006-05-14: Ogden did not play

Comments:
Wilkin Ruan is back in the Dodger organization? And back in JVille? I'm sorry, is it still 2002?

The Angels wish 'twere so.
