Minor League Scorebook

Gonna be a short one, I don't have much time tonight; maybe I'll get to more comments in the morning.

2006-05-25: New Orleans 6, Salt Lake 12 #
Willits, R: 0-3, 2 BB
Pride: 3-5, 2 2B, 1 K
Kendrick, H: 5-5, 1 3B, 1 HR, 5 RBI
Gorneault: 2-5, 1 RBI, 1 K
Mathis, J: 2-5, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Eylward: 1-4
Budde: 2-5, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 K
Olenberger: 3.2 IP, 5 ER, 8 H, 5 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 4.74 ERA
Wilhite, M: (W, 2-1) (in relief), 2.1 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 4.00 ERA
Bulger: (H, 1), 2.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 1.37 ERA
The return of Howie Kendrick, as he went 5-5 with a homer and missed the cycle by a double; he also drove in five. Jeff Mathis, Nick Gorneault, and Curtis Pride also had multi-hit nights; Kasey Olenberger had a shutout going through three, but got chased in the fourth after five runs scored.
2006-05-25: Arkansas 8, Midland 5 #
Wood: 0-5, 1 BB, 4 K
Brown: 3-5, 2 2B, 1 BB
Wilson: 3-6, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 1 K
Gates: 2-5, 1 3B, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K
Holcomb: 1.0 IP, 3 ER, 4.08 ERA
Simard: 4.0 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 4 K, 0 BB, 4.78 ERA
Thompson: (BS, 1)(W, 2-1) (in relief), 3.0 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 2 K, 1 BB, 3.58 ERA
Arkansas trails the division at 16-30; at 12.5 games back of Springfield, they have the worst record in the Texas League. They finally got a win tonight after going 6-15 previously in May. Rich Thompson got the win despite blowing the save; Brandon Wood picked up a golden sombrero, but Bobby Wilson, Matt Brown, and David Gates all had excellent nights, with Bobby Wilson collecting a three-run dinger that decided the game in the 12th.
2006-05-25: Rancho Cucamonga 7, High Desert 8 #
Sutton: 2-5, 1 RBI, 1 K
Leahy: 1-3, 2 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K
Rodriguez, S: 1-5, 1 K
Collins: 0-2, 1 RBI, 2 K
Toussaint: 1-4, 2 K
Johnson: 2-4, 2 RBI, 1 K
Rodriguez: 6.1 IP, 2 ER, 1 HR, 3.66 ERA
Torres: 0.0 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 0 K, 3 BB, 4.26 ERA
Lynch: (BS, 2)(L, 2-1) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 1.54 ERA
Rancho lost this one on Kevin Lynch's blown save. He didn't pitch badly, but it was enough to lose.
2006-05-25: Cedar Rapids 0, Quad Cities 1 #
Statia: 0-4
Renz: 2-4, 2 K
Morris: 2-3, 1 2B
Trumbo: 0-3, 1 K
Madrigal: 0-2
Adenhart: (L, 7-1), 8.0 IP, 1 ER, 7 H, 6 K, 1 BB, 1.51 ERA
Could this be the end of Nick Adenhart's career? He allowed an earned run today in an eight-inning complete game, the fourth hurled by Angels system pitchers this week. Cards system prospect Jaime Garcia posted the first season win against Adenhart, who took the loss on an Adam Rodgers RBI single. Garcia took the loss in his last outing, also coincidentally against Adenhart.
2006-05-25: AZL Angels did not play
2006-05-25: Orem did not play
2006-05-25: Las Vegas 5, Round Rock 6 #
Duncan: 2-4, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Loney: 3-5
Young, D: 1-3, 1 RBI
Garcia: 3-4, 1 RBI
Billingsley: 0-1
Guzman, J: 0-1
Billingsley: (L, 4-2), 5.0 IP, 6 ER, 8 H, 6 K, 2 BB, 2 HR, 4.27 ERA
Hull: 1.1 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 2 K, 1 BB, 1.21 ERA
Osoria: 0.2 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 0 K, 0 BB, 2.45 ERA
Chad Billingsley, here's your ass: At least, that's what I imagine Round Rock seemed to be saying to Billingsley and the 51's. Las Vegas stomped back for four in the seventh, but the Express held on to win it.
2006-05-25: Jacksonville 5, Huntsville 2 #
Ruan: 2-4, 1 BB
Hu: 1-3, 1 BB
Kemp: 1-5, 1 RBI, 1 K
LaRoche: 2-5, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Zapp: 0-1, 1 RBI, 3 BB
Abreu: 1-4
Raglani: 0-3
Hanrahan: 1-2, 1 BB
Hanrahan: (W, 4-2), 7.0 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 6 K, 2 BB, 3.17 ERA
Joel Hanrahan pitched an excellent game for the Suns, and Andy LaRoche, heating up of late, helped out with the bat, as did Matt Kemp.
2006-05-25: Vero Beach 0, Lakeland 0 (Postponed: Rain) #
The game will be made up tomorrow as part of a doubleheader. On Friday?
2006-05-25: Charleston 2, Columbus 9 #
De Jesus: 0-4, 1 BB, 1 K
Pedroza: 2-4, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K
Locke: 1-2, 2 BB
May: 3-4, 3 RBI
Apodaca: 2-4, 1 RBI
Leach: (W, 4-2), 5.0 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 6 K, 4 BB, 3.27 ERA
Meloan: 2.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 0.00 ERA
Well, the right guys weren't hot but the Catfish got the win. They needed it.
2006-05-25: GCL Dodgers did not play
2006-05-25: Ogden did not play
