The Lion And The Izturis: Angels 6, Giants 3
Maicer Izturis came up huge in the game, driving in three on a bases-loaded double. The circumstances that brought him to the plate — a Juan Rivera single, an inexplicable intentional walk to Kendry Morales, and then a pair of substitutions: Dallas McPherson for Jose Molina, Steve Kline for Jeremy Accardo, and then Mike Napoli for McPherson. Napoli walked, and then Izturis performed his miracle, domini, domini, domini.
Juan Rivera homered, which may mean the second half special is warming up, or else that it's just another fluke. Morales, with his IBB in the eighth, managed a 1-3 afternoon, and so we tip our hats and pray a bit. The line drives have been slow in coming lately, our patience taxed, but yet we don't quite start the catcalls.
Yet.
The Angels managed a single game sans errors or even close calls. It was good enough.
