2006-06-04: Salt Lake 7, Fresno 1 #
Willits, R: 1-4, 1 RBI, 1 K
Izturis: 1-3, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Erstad: 1-5
Kendrick, H: 2-5, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Gorneault: 2-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 K
Eylward: 0-4, 1 BB, 2 K
Pride: 2-5, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Olenberger: (W, 4-1), 6.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 4 K, 4 BB, 4.71 ERA
Another slaughter at the hands of the Bees, who dismantled Fresno starting pitcher Matt Kinney for five runs, four earned. Somebody in today's Halo's Heaven gameday thread said Kendrick's homer was of the inside-the-park variety, but if it was, neither the recap nor the log so indicate. Darin Erstad went 1-5, and Nick Gorneault had another multi-hit night, going 2-5. Casey Olenberger and two relievers combined to three-hit the Grizzlies.
2006-06-04: Midland 7, Arkansas 8 #
Peel, A: 1-5, 1 HR, 1 RBI
Rodland: 3-4, 2 2B
Wood: 3-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI
Wilson: 0-4, 1 K
Aspito: 2-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K
Porter: 2-4, 1 2B
Edens: (BS, 1)(W, 1-0) (in relief), 3.0 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 2 K, 1 BB, 2 HR, 4.76 ERA
Aaron Peel's solo shot won this in the bottom of the ninth after Midland rallied in the top of the ninth to tie the game. RockHound Brant Colamarino hit for the cycle but Midland lost anyway. Kyle Edens, who helped Colamarino achieve his success, seems to be fitting right in with the rest of the bullpen.

Don't look now, but this is Brandon Wood's fourth consecutive multi-hit game. He's also enjoying a good-sized 10-game hitting streak; today's game also broke a streak in which he had homered in three consecutive games.

Finally, we had a Bill Stoneman sighting in Arkansas for yesterday's Nick Green victory. Why? Travelerocity speculates that "maybe he had to see just how bad the pitching staff is in person, and if he stayed for the ninth inning he got a good look."

2006-06-04: Inland Empire 8, Rancho Cucamonga 9 #
Sutton: 2-4, 1 RBI, 1 K
Lopez: 0-1, 1 K
Rodriguez, S: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 BB
Collins: 0-5, 1 K
Reilly: 2-5, 1 2B, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 2 K
Remole: 2-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Toussaint: 3-5, 2 2B
Fuller: 1-2, 1 2B, 2 BB
Rodriguez: 6.0 IP, 3 ER, 1 HR, 4.29 ERA
Torres: (BS, 1), 1.1 IP, 4 ER, 4 H, 1 K, 3 BB, 4.76 ERA
Lynch: 1.2 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 1.82 ERA
Pete: (W, 2-1) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 0 K, 0 BB, 3.24 ERA
Francisco Rodriguez posted a quality start, but things got dicey after Joe Torres took over. Fortunately, Inland Empire doesn't pitch too well, either, and the Quakes answered a four-run eighth with a four-run bottom of the ninth of their own to tie the game, thanks to a Patrick Reilly grand slam. In the bottom of the tenth, Drew Toussaint led off the inning with a double, Tim Duff sac bunted him to third, and Nate Sutton singled him home.
2006-06-04: Burlington 13, Cedar Rapids 4 #
Statia: 0-4
Renz: 1-5, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 K
Wipke: 5-5, 1 2B, 1 RBI
Trumbo: 4-5, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Martinez: 0-3, 2 BB, 1 K
Johnson: 0-2, 2 BB, 1 K
Adenhart: (L, 7-2), 2.0 IP, 7 ER, 9 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 2.17 ERA
Didjurgis: 1.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 3.03 ERA
Well, nobody's perfect. Adenhart had his first tough outing this season, only getting out of two innings while giving up nine runs, seven earned. It was only his second loss, but ironically enough, Mark Trumbo went 4-5 with a homer and a double, missing the cycle by a triple. Jordan Renz also homered, and Flint Wipke went 5-5.

2006-06-04: Orem did not play
2006-06-04: Las Vegas 8, Sacramento 3 #
Duncan: 2-3, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Loney: 1-5, 1 RBI
Young, D: 3-5, 1 2B, 2 K
Weber, J: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 BB
Riggs: 2-4, 1 RBI
Robles: 1-4
Garcia: 2-4, 3 RBI, 1 BB
Billingsley: (W, 5-3), 6.0 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 4 K, 6 BB, 3.97 ERA
Wunsch: 1.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
Billingsley showed 'em who's boss, though he gave up far too many walks for me to be comfortable.
2006-06-04: Mobile 5, Jacksonville 13 #
Ruan: 2-5, 1 RBI
Hu: 1-5
LaRoche: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Meadows: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 1 BB
Abreu: 2-4
Raglani: 1-3, 1 BB
Totten: (W, 4-2), 6.0 IP, 4 ER, 6 H, 5 K, 2 BB, 3.98 ERA
Another trouncing of Mobile, it actually looked like it would go the other way around as Bay Bear starter Roger Deago had a no-hitter through five when Tydus Meadows grand slam opened an eight-run sixth. The Bears have lost four straight; the Suns win the five-game series with the victory, and have won the last five in a row, and are 2-13 in their last 15, and unbeaten in June.
2006-06-04: Vero Beach 4, Clearwater 5 #
Paul, X: 0-5, 1 K
Dewitt: 1-4, 1 K
Dunlap: 1-3, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K
Denker, T: 1-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Todd: 2-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Hoffmann: 1-4, 1 K
Bastardo: (L, 1-3), 3.2 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 5 K, 2 BB, 1 HR, 5.24 ERA
Despite homers from Cory Dunlap and Jeremy Todd, the Dodgers didn't get the win, as Alberto Bastardo couldn't get out of the fourth.
2006-06-04: Columbus did not play
2006-06-04: GCL Dodgers did not play
2006-06-04: Ogden did not play
