Scores

2006-06-24: Sacramento 2, Salt Lake 3 #
Willits, R: 1-3, 1 BB
Kendrick, H: 1-4, 1 RBI, 1 K
Mathis, J: 0-4, 1 K
Eylward: 2-4, 1 RBI, 1 K
Budde: 1-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K
Moseley: 6.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 H, 5 K, 3 BB, 2.96 ERA
Gwyn: (BS, 1)(W, 1-1) (in relief), 2.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 5.03 ERA
All this and strikeouts, too: Dustin Moseley's career resurrection in a Bees uniform seems to be continuing along nicely. I don't think any of the Bryan Smiths of the world are paying him much heed, but if he can keep his ERA anywhere near reasonable (i.e., 4.50 or below), keep up the K's and keep down the BB's, this guy may have figured out how to make a living out in the thin air.

Howie Kendrick's slowed down some, but he also drove in a run in today's game. Ryan Budde hit a walkoff solo shot in the bottom of the 10th.

2006-06-24: Arkansas 7, Corpus Christi 0 #
Bacon: 1-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Peel, A: 4-5, 2 2B
Wood: 1-4, 1 3B, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Brown: 4-5, 2 RBI
Haynes: 3-5, 1 RBI, 1 K
Smith, J: (W, 4-8), 8.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 4 H, 5 K, 6 BB, 4.09 ERA
Zimmermann: 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 K, 2 BB, 8.80 ERA
Arkansas scored in every inning but the first, sixth, and ninth, as Jesse Smith bamboozled the Hooks over eight innings. Bob Zimmerman came in to pitch a scoreless, though not uneventful, ninth; two walks? Eww.

Aaron Peel had a great 4-5 night at the plate, and .213-hitting Dwaine Bacon homered.

2006-06-24: Rancho Cucamonga 8, High Desert 9 #
Rodriguez, S: 1-4, 1 BB, 1 K
Sandoval, F: 2-5, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 K
Johnson: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Remole: 2-4, 2 RBI, 1 BB
Toussaint: 1-5, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Leahy: 0-3, 2 BB, 1 K
Fuller: 3-4, 1 3B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Rodriguez, F: (L, 6-4), 3.2 IP, 6 R, 6 ER, 8 H, 2 K, 4 BB, 1 HR, 4.66 ERA
Fernando Rodriguez didn't get out of the fourth, and the Mavericks just pounded Rancho. Freddie Sandoval and Ben Johnson homered in the loss.
2006-06-24: Cedar Rapids 7, Fort Wayne 2 #
Coon: 2-5, 1 2B
Statia: 2-5, 2 2B, 3 RBI
Wipke: 2-5, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Davies: 1-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Hill: (W, 2-4), 8.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 H, 4 K, 1 BB, 2.57 ERA
The Kernels scored all seven runs in a blowout third inning; Wizards starter Joel Santo took all the abuse, but no other Ft. Wayne pitcher gave up a run.
2006-06-24: Orem 3, Casper 0 #
Bourjos: 0-5, 5 K
Mount: 1-4, 1 BB, 1 K
Knazek: 1-3, 1 3B, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K
Sales: 2-4, 1 K
Rivera: 2-3
Herndon: 3.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 H, 2 K, 1 BB, 0.00 ERA
Sullivan: (W, 1-0) (in relief), 4.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 4 K, 2 BB, 4.26 ERA
The Owls go on the road and took on the Casper Rockies. 2006 5th-rounder Kenneth Herndon got a tandem start with John Sullivan, who got the win in relief. Chris Knazek continues his hot streak; he's hitting .421 since the start of the season. Word to Peter Bourjos: that platinum sombrero doesn't look good on your resume. Chill with the swings, already.
2006-06-24: AZL Angels did not play
2006-06-24: Las Vegas 5, Tucson 6 #
Aybar: 0-4
Guzman: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Loney: 2-4, 1 RBI
Young, D: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI
Riggs: 2-4
Navarro: 1-4, 1 K
Hanrahan: 0-2, 1 K
Wunsch: 0-1
Hanrahan: 6.0 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 6 H, 1 K, 3 BB, 1 HR, 5.25 ERA
Wunsch: (H, 3), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 0 K, 0 BB, 9.00 ERA
Carter: (BS, 3)(L, 1-2) (in relief), 0.0 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 5 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 2.11 ERA
A pretty good game by Joel Hanrahan, but how does Lance Carter have such a low ERA? Made no outs, and gave up the game-losing run. Boo.
2006-06-24: Jacksonville 10, Carolina 0 #
Greenberg: 3-4, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 K
Hu: 2-4, 1 BB
Brazell: 3-5, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 1 K
Abreu: 3-5, 1 2B, 1 RBI
Ruggiano, J: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Nall: (W, 6-2), 7.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 10 K, 2 BB, 2.59 ERA
After a hot start and then a cold streak, Adam Greenberg is picking himself back up off the floor; he's got a .220 average now, which actually represents an improvement. T.J. Nall once more looks like he wants to move up to AAA, and with these kind of strikeout numbers, maybe he does indeed belong there. The win was Nall's sixth straight victory, and extended to 18 his current scoreless streak; he also owns a 1.57 ERA during this streak.
2006-06-24: Vero Beach 5, Daytona 4 #
Paul, X: 2-4, 1 2B, 2 K
Dewitt: 2-5, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 2 K
Santana: 2-5, 2 K
Dunlap: 2-4
Raglani: 1-3, 1 2B, 1 BB
Gonzalez: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 K
Hoffmann: 0-4, 2 K
Johnson, B: 4.2 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 7 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 3.95 ERA
Elbert: (W, 5-4) (in relief), 2.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 2.62 ERA
Vero scored four in the top of the ninth to pull ahead against Adalberto Mendez and the Daytona Cubs. Blake Dewitt homered twice in the victory, a solo shot in the third and a two-run dinger in the ninth that proved the game winner.
2006-06-24: Savannah 9, Columbus 7 #
De Jesus: 2-4, 2 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Pedroza: 2-5, 1 HR, 1 RBI
Mooneyham: 0-3, 2 BB
Denker, T: 2-4, 1 HR, 3 RBI
Apodaca: 2-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI
Pfeiffer: 3.0 IP, 6 R, 4 ER, 5 H, 2 K, 5 BB, 4.31 ERA
Garrison: 3.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 3 K, 4 BB, 0.00 ERA
Gomez de Segura: (BS, 2)(L, 1-3) (in relief), 1.2 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 H, 3 K, 5 BB, 6.11 ERA
Troncoso: 1.1 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 1.74 ERA
Not quite enough pitching. Or maybe, not quite enough offense. It wasn't for a lack of trying from Travis Denker, Sergio Pedroza, or Ivan De Jesus.
2006-06-24: Ogden 11, Idaho Falls 2 #
Perez: 1-3, 1 2B, 2 BB
Jensen: 3-5, 1 2B
Jackson: 1-5, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 2 K
Martin: 3-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Morris: 3.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 4 K, 3 BB, 0.00 ERA
Rodriguez, J: (W, 1-0) (in relief), 3.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 3.00 ERA
I think this is first-rounder Brian Morris's inaugural start in a tandem role, and if so, woo hoo! Jesus Rodriguez appears to have been demoted from Columbus.
2006-06-24: GCL Nationals 3, GCL Dodgers 4 #
Gutierrez, E: 2-4, 1 K
Mattingly: 0-3, 1 RBI, 1 K
Robinson: 2-4, 1 3B, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K
Gilbert: 0.2 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 H, 2 K, 2 BB, 13.50 ERA
Gracia: 5.1 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 H, 4 K, 3 BB, 3.38 ERA
Paris: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 3 K, 3 BB, 6.75 ERA
Diaz: (W, 1-0) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 1.80 ERA
Preston Mattingly had his first professional game Friday night, but the scores came in late so we had no idea; he went 2-4 with an RBI and two strikeouts.
