Five, Six Zero: Angels 7, Mariners 1

Jered Weaver is 5-0, allowing only a single run while striking out nine over seven innings of work, walking only one batter. Outstanding!

Cabrera got a hit, extending his on-base streak to 60 straight games. Also, outstanding!

The Angels scored a lot of runs, though not early in Weaver's time, and off King Felix, to boot, though Hernandez hasn't been lights out much this year.

Napoli walked twice, Vlad had a pair of hits, and Kendry Morales had a 3-4 day at the plate at the 136 AB mark, including his first homer since June 25. I won't call it a turning point, but I will suggest that he is learning. Anderson actually worked a couple of walks, and that must have caused his head to implode.

Izturis is back to being a liability and probably shouldn't be hitting second. I'll be glad when McPherson comes back.

The Angels scored a lot of runs, though not necessarily while Weaver was on the mound[.]

Well, technically, they didn't score any runs while Weaver was on the mound. But five of the seven were scored while WTY [should we call him WTB, for Weaver the Better?] was pitcher of record, so...that's kind of a lot. Especially for the Halos. But not as many runs as they'd scored for him in other outings, to be sure.

Hey Rob, are you going to post anything further about your trip to Rancho Cu-camonga?

Absolutely, but (a) I want to get my photos together first, (b) we had company over today, and (c) I shot almost 300 pictures, so it'll take the better part of the day for me to get all that straightened out. But thanks for asking.
