Pujols Pounds The Dodgers: Cardinals 11, Dodgers, 2
Victory has many fathers, goes the saying, but defeat is an orphan. But in this game, it seemed like one papa in particular, papa Pujols, who had something to say about who was going to win this game. While about half of those runs came off starter Brad Penny, Odalis Perez managed to also present the team with a steaming present in a paper bag before ringing the doorbell and running off to the showers. Albert — 4-5 with three RBIs — extended the Dodgers' humiliation by helping to crush the Dodgers with a sweep. Since the upcoming series against the Dodgers at home is a three-game series, the Cards automatically win the season series. But that's not news; the Dodgers haven't been able to do anything against the Cards since 2003 (when they beat them in the season series 4-2), and it doesn't look like this year will be any different.
Be that as it may, I'll be at the park. I want to see how far Pujols hits the ball out of the park, if only in batting practice.
