Mid-Day Bullets
- The Red Sox may be without Manny Ramirez for an extended period thanks to a sore knee that has required an MRI. It will probably make them feel a little better to learn that the Yankees have disabled Mike Mussina.
Update: Will Carroll admits as to how Manny might be faking it, but we have no way of knowing as these things often don't show up on an MRI.
- Scot Shields thinks he's found a flaw in his delivery that's caused him to lose control of his pitches.
- Darin Erstad will start a minor league rehab start at Rancho this weekend.
- Dallas McPherson has been cleared to resume his rehab stint for Salt Lake.
- Steve Bischeff engages in some hyperbole about Jered Weaver. Some folks don't like it.
- Ex-Dodgers go on the DL for their new teams: Jae Seo and Danys Baez.
- Word to Steve Henson: correlation is not causation.
- Update: Bob Timmermann explains about the missing men of baseball yesterday.
- Vlad Guerrero is dumb as a brick on the basepaths.
