McPherson: 0-2, 2 BB, 2 K
Gorneault: 1-4, 1 RBI, 2 K
Mathis, J: 0-4, 3 K
Eylward: 3-4, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 K

Gwyn: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 3.95 ERA
Reggie Willits scored the winning run on Erick Aybar's RBI single, and Mike Eylward blasted a three-run jack in the third; Jason Bulger and Marcus Gwyn held the lead for three innings, the latter recording his third save of the year. Jeff Mathis threw the ball away in the top of the first, allowing an unearned run when Brooks Conrad scored following his successful steal of third.
2006-08-10: Arkansas 6, Midland 4 #
Peel, A: 2-5, 1 RBI, 1 K
Wood: 3-5, 1 K
Brown: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 K
Evans: 0-5, 1 RBI, 2 K
Pali: 1-2, 2 BB, 1 K
Rodland: 1-1, 1 RBI, 2 BB
Arredondo: 6.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 H, 7 K, 3 BB, 6.10 ERA
Edens: (W, 3-3) (in relief), 1.1 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 H, 1 K, 4 BB, 5.17 ERA
Reserve catcher Brent Del Chiaro hit a two-run single in the four-run fourth; Aaron Peel, Brandon Wood, and Matt Brown all singled ahead of him in order to load the bases. Jose Arredondo had his best start for the Travs since his July 5 complete game shutout, and Kyle Edens went to breakeven on the season despite giving up two earned runs.
2006-08-10: Lake Elsinore 4, Rancho Cucamonga 1 #
Rodriguez, S: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Collins: 0-4, 3 K
Marek: (L, 1-2), 6.0 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 5 H, 6 K, 4 BB, 3.60 ERA
Evan Meek and three relievers, including former Dirtbag closer Neil Jamison, four-hit the Quakes. Stephen Marek got the tough-luck loss.
2006-08-10: Wisconsin 0, Cedar Rapids 0 (Postponed: Rain) #
To be rescheduled as part of a doubleheader tomorrow.
2006-08-10: Ogden 0, Orem 4 #
Mount: 0-3, 1 BB
Johnson: 2-3, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Nieves: 2-4, 2 2B
Phillips: 2-3, 1 2B, 2 RBI
Brewer: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Herndon: (W, 4-2), 6.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 2 K, 2 BB, 2.09 ERA
Browning: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 2.64 ERA
A box score like a picket fence, with Orem scoring one in four different frames. P.J. Phillips drove in a pair, while Kenneth Herndon continued his improbably solid pitching (improbable given his absurdly low strikeout rates, though he's got a 22/5 K/BB rate), carrying a no-hitter into the sixth.

For the Raptors, the night went downhill once starter Javy Guerra was ejected by plate umpire Bronson Martinez. Guerra hit Phillips with a pitch and narrowly avoided hitting Scott Knazek with a wild pitch; Ogden manager Lance Parrish then was ejected.

The game was the second shutout of the season for the Owlz, and the fifth time the Raptors have been shut out.

2006-08-10: AZL Angels 6, AZL Athletics 8 #
Fonseca: 3-4, 1 BB
Ortiz, W: 2-5, 1 RBI
Sweeney: 3-5, 1 2B, 2 RBI
Ortiz, N: 2-5, 1 RBI, 1 K
Moore: 2-3, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 K
Torres: 4.0 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 4 K, 5 BB, 5.06 ERA
Reilly: (L, 2-1) (in relief), 1.1 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 H, 2 K, 3 BB, 5.84 ERA
The Angels' bullpen imploded, in the guises of Matt Reilly and Brendan Wilson, for seven runs, all but one earned. Athletics manager Ruben Escalera was ejected in the top of the sixth, strange because the A's then went on to score seven in the bottom half of that frame and the seventh. The usual suspects — Wilberto Ortiz, Matt Sweeney, and Alex Fonseca, all had multi-hit games; the Angels lost despite out-hitting the A's 15-7.
2006-08-10: Las Vegas 1, New Orleans 0 #
Garcia: 0-2, 2 BB, 1 K
Valdez: 2-4
Young, D: 0-2, 2 K
Robles: 0-1, 1 BB, 1 K
Kemp: 1-2
LaRoche: 0-3, 2 K
Hanrahan: 1-3, 1 2B, 1 K
Hanrahan: (W, 4-2), 6.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 4 K, 3 BB, 4.33 ERA
Joel Hanrahan, Tim Hamulack, and Lance Carter all combined to three-hit the ... gopher-thingies? ... oh, yeah, the Zephyrs, over an abbreviated seven inning game, the first half of a doubleheader. Delwyn Young was ejected in the bottom of the fourth, and Zephyrs' hitting coach Rick Eckstein was also ejected.
2006-08-10: Las Vegas 0, New Orleans 2 #
Kemp: 0-2, 1 BB, 1 K
LaRoche: 0-2, 1 K
Young, D: 1-3, 1 K
Robles: 0-0, 1 BB
Stults: (L, 7-10), 5.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 H, 5 K, 3 BB, 4.39 ERA
No surprise with Eric Stults on the mound, though he did admittedly deserve better; Matt Kemp made for the day's third ejection. Freshly promoted starter Kip Bouknight won his first decision for New Orleans, with two more relievers combining to two-hit the 51's over seven for a split of the doubleheader.
2006-08-10: West Tenn 3, Jacksonville 4 #
Hu, C: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 2 K
Abreu: 1-4
Dewitt: 0-4
Raglani: 2-3, 1 2B
Lundberg: (W, 12-1), 7.2 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 10 H, 6 K, 0 BB, 2.08 ERA
Spike Lundberg: 12-1 and a 2.08 ERA for Jacksonville, but 0-4 and a 7.17 ERA for Las Vegas. Go figure. Lundberg even drove in the winning RBI in this game; leadoff man Adam Greenberg and number two hitter Chin-Lung Hu drove in one each. Lundberg's .241 average outpaces all but four other starting players in this game. Such are the fortunes of the Suns of late.
2006-08-10: Vero Beach 2, Fort Myers 4 #
Gutierrez, E: 1-2, 3 BB, 1 K
Paul, X: 1-1
Dunlap: 1-5, 2 K
Megrew: (L, 2-1), 4.0 IP, 4 R, 4 ER, 7 H, 5 K, 4 BB, 1 HR, 3.56 ERA
Ketchner: 3.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 5 K, 2 BB, 2.38 ERA
Ryan Ketchner, slowly making his way back; a fine game for him, but unfortunately he came in too late to prevent the losing runs from crossing the plate.
2006-08-10: Greenville 3, Columbus 4 #
De Jesus: 1-1, 1 RBI
Denker, T: 3-3, 2 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Sutherland: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI
Perez: 1-2, 2 BB
Rivera, J: 1-4, 1 K
Horlacher: 7.0 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 H, 6 K, 2 BB, 1 HR, 5.59 ERA
Troncoso: (W, 4-0) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 K, 0 BB, 2.64 ERA
Ivan De Jesus, who came into the game as a defensive replacement in the top of the ninth for shortstop Juan Rivera, got an RBI pinch-hit in the bottom of the ninth to win the game. The normally hittable David Horlacher three-hit the Drive.
2006-08-10: Ogden 0, Orem 4 #
Rogowski: 0-2, 2 BB
Bell: 0-3
Guerra: (L, 1-1), 3.2 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 H, 3 K, 3 BB, 1.98 ERA
2006-08-10: GCL Marlins 6, GCL Dodgers 4 #
Herrera: 3-5
Mattingly: 2-4, 2 2B, 1 K
Renfrow: 6.0 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 7 K, 1 BB, 0.00 ERA
Haldis: 2.1 IP, 3 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 3.32 ERA
Quintana: (BS, 3)(L, 2-2) (in relief), 0.2 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 5.48 ERA
Wayne Renfrow made his second start in this seven-inning doubleheader, with teriffic results for him; a five-run bullpen implosion in the top of the ninth lost the game.

Comments:
Three singles in one game for Brandon Wood? Is that a record?

If Bulger is capable of throwing a scoreless inning in AAA, he's already better than half the relievers on the big club right now.
