Scores

2006-08-22: Salt Lake 7, Portland 2 #
Murphy: 0-3, 2 BB
Eylward: 1-3, 2 BB, 1 K
Gorneault: 1-5, 1 3B, 5 RBI, 2 K
Mathis, J: 2-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 K
Shell: (W, 5-8), 7.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 H, 7 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 6.20 ERA
Finally, a good game out of Steven Shell. Nick Gorneault had a pair of scoring groundouts and a bases-clearing triple to clock in five baserunners.
2006-08-22: Arkansas 6, Wichita 9 #
Peel, A: 3-5, 1 2B, 1 HR, 1 RBI
Rodriguez, S: 1-4, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K
Evans: 3-3, 1 BB
Wilson: 1-4, 1 K
Del Chiaro: 1-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K
Rodland: 2-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Rodriguez, R: (L, 5-10), 5.1 IP, 8 R, 7 ER, 12 H, 2 K, 3 BB, 6.90 ERA
Gonzalez: 1.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 4.67 ERA
The Travs have just been cleaned out of some of their best players, and lose their seventh straight; with the win, the Wranglers magic number for clinching the North Division second half title is six.
2006-08-22: Rancho Cucamonga 4, Bakersfield 2 #
Sutton: 2-4, 1 RBI, 1 K
Collins: 1-4
Statia: 2-4, 1 3B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Marek: (W, 3-3), 7.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 H, 10 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 3.69 ERA
Jepsen: 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K, 1 BB, 3.19 ERA
A fantastic game for Stephen Marek. The three-run third was typical Angels baseball: a stolen base, a triple, and a scoring wild pitch all combined to give the Quakes a lead they would not surrender.
2006-08-22: Cedar Rapids did not play
2006-08-22: Orem 0, Great Falls 1 #
Mount: 2-4, 1 K
Cassevah: (L, 2-2), 5.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 4.72 ERA
Connelly: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 3.45 ERA
Bobby Cassevah outpitched.
2006-08-22: AZL Mariners 0, AZL Angels 6 #
Fonseca: 1-3, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K
Fuller: 2-5, 1 3B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Lewis: 0-2, 2 BB, 1 K
Loman: 0-2, 2 BB, 1 K
Veras: (W, 8-2), 6.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 H, 7 K, 0 BB, 1.35 ERA
Jimenez: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 4 K, 1 BB, 3.95 ERA
Madrigal: 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 5.00 ERA
Subtract his one-out implosion on August 9, and Warner Madrigal has a 2.35 ERA, an 11.74 K/9, and a 5.00 K/BB ratio. Shiny numbers, but too few innings still to have a good read on him. Vladimir Veras has plenty, though, and he's looking like he'll be this year's Gustavo Espinoza; his 1.35 ERA leads the AZL for qualifying pitchers, and still striking out just under a batter an inning. Esmerlin Jimenez combined with Veras and Madrigal to four-hit the Mariners.
2006-08-22: Las Vegas 7, Tacoma 1 #
Garcia: 3-3, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Kemp: 2-5, 2 RBI
Loney: 0-4, 1 BB, 1 K
Young, D: 1-5, 1 2B, 2 K
Robles: 2-3, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Kuo: (W, 4-3), 5.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 H, 4 K, 3 BB, 1 HR, 3.06 ERA
Carter: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 4.17 ERA
Osoria: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 2 K, 1 BB, 4.23 ERA
Wow, another good start by Hong-Chih Kuo, who really seems to like starting. Sergio Garcia started at third and had a perfect night at the plate; Matt Kemp drove in a pair, and even Oscar Robles managed to knock one in.
2006-08-22: Montgomery 8, Jacksonville 4 #
Dewitt: 1-4
Meadows: 1-3, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Brazell: 1-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K
Zapp: 0-4, 4 K
Raglani: 1-1, 1 2B
Elbert: (L, 5-4), 5.0 IP, 6 R, 6 ER, 6 H, 6 K, 4 BB, 2 HR, 3.68 ERA
Akin: 3.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 H, 5 K, 1 BB, 2.76 ERA
Scott Elbert had a bad game, and former Dirtbag Evan Longoria hit a two-run jack with Justin Ruggiano on base; both players drove in three runs each. Tydus Meadows and Craig Brazell both homered in the loss, collectively driving in all the Suns' runs.
2006-08-22: Vero Beach 0, Brevard County 2 #
Dunlap: 0-3, 1 BB, 2 K
Megrew: (L, 2-2), 5.2 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 H, 6 K, 6 BB, 3.51 ERA
Ketchner: 2.1 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 4 K, 0 BB, 1.62 ERA
Derek Miller and Joe Thatcher one-hit the Dodgers. Mike Megrew was the tough luck loser.
2006-08-21: Columbus 5, Rome 3 #
De Jesus: 0-3, 1 K
Denker, T: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI
Horlacher: 4.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 5 H, 6 K, 3 BB, 4.90 ERA
Pratt: (W, 8-4) (in relief), 3.1 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 H, 4 K, 1 BB, 4.90 ERA
Officially this happened on Monday, but the game was in fact completed Tuesday.
2006-08-22: Columbus 6, Rome 1 #
De Jesus: 0-3, 1 K
May: 2-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI
Perez: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Sutherland: 2-4
Rivera, J: 2-4, 1 RBI
Castillo: (W, 8-4), 5.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 H, 9 K, 5 BB, 4.60 ERA
Nothing like beating the Braves. Arismendy Castillo pitched a dominant five innings in an abbreviated game due to the doubleheader.
2006-08-22: Ogden 2, Billings 6 #
Rogowski: 2-3, 1 BB
Berezay: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Bell: 0-1, 3 BB, 1 K
Guerra: (L, 1-2), 2.2 IP, 6 R, 4 ER, 5 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 4.43 ERA
Billings made war on Javy Guerra to the tune of six runs, four earned; Guerra himself made the fielding error that cost him two runs. Matt Berezay homered in the loss.
2006-08-22: GCL Dodgers 4, GCL Tigers 2 #
Rosario: 2-5, 2 3B, 2 RBI, 1 K
Mattingly: 1-5, 3 K
Mathews: 1-3, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 2 BB
Kershaw: 5.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 7 H, 6 K, 2 BB, 3.60 ERA
Renfrow: 3.1 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 4 K, 2 BB, 0.00 ERA
Gracia: (W, 1-0) (in relief), 1.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 0.00 ERA
A pretty solid but not great game for Clayton Kershaw. Mattingly's average has slumped its way to .200, but this Jovanny Rosario kid is hitting .400 and tripled twice in this one. Brian Mathews homered, too.

Comments:
What's with that fall league roster? Are any of our top 10 prospects on that list? Maybe Wilson? Seems like a much weaker group than they've sent in the past. I understand why someone like Wood isn't going, but why no Rodriguez?

You forgot to mention that Scott Elbert is on the AZ Fall Roster as well. He's the best Dodger prospect of them all.

Not that it matters, but Ken Howell (somehow still the 51s pitching coach) will be acting in the same capacity for Mesa as well (per Dodgers.com)...
