Today's Birthdays

Dave Anderson LAN b. 1960, played 1983-1989, 1992

Justin Baughman ANA b. 1974, played 1998, 2000

Brian Bohanon LAN b. 1968, played 1998

Howard Freigau BRO b. 1902, played 1928, d. 1932-07-18

Shigetoshi Hasegawa ANA b. 1968, played 1997-2001, All-Star: 2003. A Top 100 Angel by the hair of his chinny chin chin at 97.

Gregg Jefferies ANA b. 1967, played 1998, All-Star: 1993-1994. A two-time All-Star with the Mets, he got hyped early (comparisons to Doc Gooden and Darryl Strawberry will do that) and fizzled as a 21-year-old callup. Replacing Howard Johnson in the Mets lineup at third, and eventually Wally Backman at second, his emotional outbursts after strikeouts caused the press to turn on him. He ended up as an Angel briefly for the 1998 stretch drive, and you all know how that turned out.

Joe Shaute BRO b. 1899, played 1931-1933, d. 1970-02-21

Jackie Warner CAL b. 1943, played 1966

Myron White LAN b. 1957, played 1978

Comments:
